Yes  *SB1162 Anti motorcycle profiling , can`t stop you solely for riding a motorcycle or wearing motorcycle attire.

Yes *HB 3336 Jagger’s Law.  Makes mandatory fine , plus more court appointed punishments available instead of just a maybe fine like before.

Yes *SB 1081 Anti Red Flag law. This forbids the state of Oklahoma from setting up or using any red flag laws.  (red flag laws allow LEO to get a no knock warrant for your firearms based on a complaint from anyone who thinks you are a danger without due process)

Legislative MEAL (Motorcyclist Educating and Affecting Legislation) Day at the OK Capital.   Starting around 09:00am.  63 people signed up representing 19 different groups counting SSA outposts as one group.  But it sure seemed like there was more people than that.  A good showing no doubt.  Patch holders and motorcycle enthusiasts armed with fruits cups, whipped cream, and smiles descended upon the capital visiting with the Senators, Representatives, and their legislative assistants.  Informing them regarding legislation to improve our motorcycling lifestyle.

2018 ABATE Legislative Agenda

SB 496 Senator Pittman and Bass

Motorcycle anti-profiling. Has the police set up training and work with the motorcycle community to combat it.

Need House Author

HB 2978 Rep Frix

Gives sales tax exemption to the American Legion posts in Oklahoma just like the VFW and DAV already have. There are 180 posts in OK, 35 have a cantina so lost revenue to state would be minimal.

HB 2665 Rep Hoskin

Making the use of electronic highway signs at least 1 week in the months of April, May, June July, and August to display watch out for motorcycles.

HB 2718 Rep Teague

Anti-profiling same as first. (need Senate author).

HB 2610 Rep Tadlock

6 year drivers license. We need to ask for an amendment. “It shall be illegal for the state of Oklahoma to use RFID chips in state issued documentation and/or in its citizens.

HB 2913 Hemp production for medical use.

HB 2350 Audit of Turnpike Authority

HB 1173

Right of way. Can’t get the Rep to do anything with it. Will likely need to try again next year.

Had a great meeting last  Thursday.  I’ll be working on the website updates so check it out soon.  Here’s the plan.  I’ll be working on getting the events calendar updated.  There’s lots of stuff if your interested.  I’ll be updating some other links, and sections.  Look back again soon.

At our Chapter meeting we got some updates on the legislative activities we still have some alive.   Stick was honored on the floor with unlimited time restrictions.  He could have filibustered the whole day.  While Stick may do that to us sometimes we know he must have been somewhat humbled and kept it reasonable.  He sure looked good in a suit.  Way to go Stick!! hats off.  I am proud to be a member of Abate.  That wasn’t the only cool thing at our meeting but I’ll not repeat the notes here.

Thunder Run is coming up at the beginning of April I look forward to that.

May is motorcycle safety awareness month.

Well it may have been a while but we had a great time at the bowling party last week.  Our sponsor Penn 44 was great even though electronic payments were down.   We had about 8 lanes filled with fun loving and “oh you got me” or “I got you”  attitudes.  Stick started by rocking down the house.   And a pleasant  banter to the next lane.  I hadn’t bowled for since a couple years before the tornado, and then I had a knee replacement.    I was a little unsure if I could bowl but I shortened my approach and took the verbal beating of “ballerina”.   I was a little sore the next day and my wife wanted to clean out the tornado shelter.  I think my weekend was 75/25 because the great time we had with abate.  Many thanks to Tina for everything she did while she was there.  Hillbilly for being on my team, Ohio Bill and the rest of the gang.  It was good see all my Abate friends.    Maybe the best part was a the shake down to Beyonce in between turns keeping the excitement going.!

HI YA! We have implemented new things to our NEW MRO for the State of Oklahoma… Oh yes we have!

Feb 8, 2015

Wow, happy late new year everyone!

A lot has been going on in the world of Oklahoma, to keep it to the point. COD has always been a member ran chapter. In fact, COD is the OLDEST and ORIGINAL ABATE chapter of Oklahoma. Over the last many years, our members and even outside voices have noticed and stated how much is has fell from the grass roots over 36 years ago when COD started ABATE in this state.  That is where SOONER STATE ABATE, Inc ® came into play. We have several chapters already over the state. And many more promising ones ahead. We have always supported the motorcycling community as a whole, and this just gives us much more freedom to do what we do best! We have much exciting things in progress….. I cant wait to share it!

So, support your local chapter, community  and your statewide freedom of choice.

If you are interested in more information on how you can help keep up the good fight for our freedoms, call one of the Representatives in your area.

Hello, Friends–

I’m very sad to report that Mitchell “Ripper” Bailey, COD and ABATE Charter Member and ABATE of Oklahoma Lifetime Member #004, passed away at noon today. He was taken off Life Support earlier, and left us. He’s being cremated, and plans are in the works for a Memorial Service.

More information will follow. Please remember Michelle and the family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with their grief and get affairs in order.

My heart is broken, and I’ll miss him terribly. Ride Free Forever, Ripper!!

With Love and Respect,
Tiger Mike
