 Motorcycling Liberty Success For 2010-2011

  •  Legislation passed authorizing for Motorcycle Rider Education, Safety, Training & Awareness Programs (“Gunners Law”)
  •  Malfunctioning Traffic Light Act – Legislation passed allowing Motorcyclists’ to treat a controlled intersection as a stop sign if the bike doesn’t trigger the light to turn green. (stop & determine it safe to precede) Legislation passed naming three experienced motorcyclist to the Oklahoma Motorcycle Advisory Council.
  •  Legislation passed eliminating vague wording in Failure To Yield Law (“Jaggers Law”) that allowed motorists to hurt & kill motorcyclist without prosecution.Legislation passed making “Driving while texting by minors” illegal.
  • Expanding Motorcycle Safety & Awareness month in May to include “Share The Road – Watch Out For Motorcyclist” messages on electronic bulletin boards; and obtaining City & State Proclamations.
  •  Legislation passed including “Sharing The Road” with motorcycles & bicyclists related questions on Oklahoma Driver License test.

  •  Coordinates with Department of Transportation on larger “Motorcyclists Use Caution” signs at construction zones.
  •  Legislation passed authorizing motorcycle license plates for Disabled riders.
  •  “Jaggers Law” passed, increasing penalties for negligent motorists who hurt and kill motorcyclist.
  •  Defended right to use Auxiliary Lighting & Modulating Headlamps for safety; & less restriction on Bike Customization (example: handle bar height)
